Some schools simply hire recent graduates because they are inexpensive and can teach the basics.

When learning a language, the experience of the teachers counts. There are many schools teaching Spanish in Madrid and elsewhere. From the beginning, they always been very responsive and willing to work with you to tailor a course for your needs. The quality of the teaching is very good and the school is professionally run. I spent 2 weeks at this school a few years back and have kept up lessons by Skype with them ever since. I strongly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Spanish, or to hone or improve upon language skills they already have. I should also mention that the Tilde support staff was always responsive, gracious and helpful, and the guide who lead the cultural activities was extremely skilled and knowledgeable, and a great teacher of Spanish history, art and literature (among other topics). But I looked forward to my lessons each day, and I missed them and the teachers when my time there was over. This isn't to say that the work was not hard for me - it was (including serious daily homework). The Spanish language book upon which they base their lessons is intuitive, clear and easy to follow.

They were very adept, dedicated, patient, persistent and fun. Not only were both of them great teachers they were also an absolute pleasure to spend time with and come to know. Each day I had lessons with two of the profesoras there. It also happens to be located in an attractive and central part of Madrid, a very beautiful city. I picked Tilde over the other language schools I considered because of its focus on teaching adults, and because I hoped that due to its small size, it could provide a student like me with more individualized attention than I might receive in another setting. During that long lapse, I had forgotten most of what I once knew. My goal in enrolling there was to try to reacquaint myself with the Spanish language, which I had studied in school 40 years ago, but had not spoken, read or really even heard since then. I was fortunate to spend 2 weeks at Tilde earlier this month.
